Come Close To Jesus

Come Close to Jesus

In a world filled with noise, distractions, pressure, and uncertainty, there is an invitation that remains constant: come close to Jesus.

Many people know about Jesus. We have heard His name in church, seen Bible verses online, listened to sermons, or grown up hearing stories about Him. But knowing about Jesus is not the same as knowing Him.

Jesus does not simply call us to religion. He calls us into a relationship with Him.

What Does It Mean to Come Close to Jesus?

Coming close to Jesus means choosing to know Him personally and allowing Him to become part of every area of our lives. It means moving beyond simply attending church or identifying as a Christian and beginning to genuinely walk with Christ.

James 4:8 says, “Draw near to God, and He will draw near to you.”

This is an invitation. God is not distant or uninterested in us. He desires fellowship with us.

Coming close to Jesus means talking to Him in prayer, spending time in His Word, worshipping Him, obeying His teachings, and trusting Him even when we do not understand everything happening around us.

You Don’t Have to Have It All Together

Sometimes we feel that we need to fix ourselves before coming to Jesus. We may think we are too sinful, too inconsistent, too broken, or too far away from God.

But Jesus invites us to come as we are.

In Matthew 11:28, Jesus says, “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.”

Notice that He does not say, “Come when you have everything figured out.”

He says, “Come to me.”

Your struggles do not disqualify you from seeking Jesus. Your past does not make you unreachable. You can begin again.

Make Time for Jesus

Relationships grow through time and communication. Our relationship with Jesus is no different.

If we want to grow closer to Him, we must intentionally make room for Him.

Spend time reading Scripture. Pray, even when you do not know exactly what to say. Worship. Be still. Reflect on God’s goodness. Ask Him to reveal areas of your life that need to change.

It does not have to begin with hours of Bible study every day. Start somewhere. A few intentional minutes spent seeking God can become the beginning of a deeper relationship with Him.

The goal is not simply to complete a routine. The goal is to know Jesus.

Don’t Let the World Become Louder Than God

Every day, we are surrounded by voices telling us who to become, what to desire, what success looks like, and where our value comes from.

Social media, relationships, school, work, entertainment, and culture can easily become louder than God’s voice.

Romans 12:2 reminds believers not to conform to the pattern of this world but to be transformed by the renewing of their minds.

Coming close to Jesus means allowing His Word to shape our thinking rather than allowing everything around us to define us.

The closer we walk with Christ, the more clearly we begin to recognize what reflects Him and what pulls us away from Him.

Jesus Is Worth Coming Close To

Following Jesus does not mean that life will suddenly become perfect. There will still be difficult seasons, unanswered questions, disappointments, and moments when our faith is tested.

But we do not have to walk through them alone.

Jesus offers peace, direction, forgiveness, hope, and a new identity. More importantly, He offers us Himself.

So, if you have been distant from God, come close again.

If you have never truly known Jesus, start seeking Him.

If you have been following Him for years, do not stop pursuing Him.

There is always more of Christ to know.

Come close to Jesus.

Not merely for what He can give you, but because He is worthy of your heart, your trust, your time, and your life.

Today, take a step toward Him.

Open your Bible. Pray. Worship. Repent where necessary. Ask Him to draw you closer.

The invitation is still open.

Come close to Jesus.
